BREAKING: After a federal appeals court upheld a $5 million civil judgement against Donald Trump for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in the 90’s, Trump is asking the Supreme Court to step in. The President, who also owes E Jean Carroll another $83.3 million jury verdict for damaging her reputation when he denied her rape claim in 2019, is asking the Supreme Court to overturn his sexual abuse case. It’s unclear whether or not the court will even take up this case. Earlier this year, Trump claimed that presidential immunity should protect him from having to pay the woman who accused him of sexual assault for defamation because he was ‘acting in his capacity as president’ when he made damaging statements about her in 2019. On September 8th, the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals rejected that appeal.
